Beginning in March of 2017, MEMA rolled out a comprehensive schedule of both professional and technical education and training for the industry in Massachusetts.
On the professional side, MEMA held seminars in Burlington, Springfield, Worcester and Taunton for business owners and customer service representatives that focused on teaching attendees new marketing, sales and communications skills. MEMA also held an upper-level management training class in Burlington for business owners and general managers; and training classes in Burlington and Springfield on current hedging and heating oil marketing strategies.
For technicians and those seeking to become a state licensed oil burner technician, MEMA held NORA Bronze, Silver and Gold classes in Sturbridge, Burlington, Worcester and Springfield; and held several training sessions across the state on the new oil burner code for Massachusetts – NFPA 31. Additionally, MEMA held three separate Tech Advantage training sessions that focused on enhancing and broadening customer interaction and skill sets for technicians.
A complete 2018 NORA education and training curriculum is currently being developed.
